and most artists don’t schedule gigs this month, but some do. The weird ones.

Always striving to serve our growing community of loving and inventive weirdos, The BCN Studio has decided to offer a hodge podge menu of experiences in August 2025.

Community events - Karaoke, film nights, and, um want to paint our walls?

Come have a say in shaping weekly community events like Karaoke and Film Nights… or just come and watch the brief (facilitated) mayhem, then sing and consume filmy films. Maybe you’ll all be so good at designing with us that these events (and your legacy) will live on after August?

We also need to do some painting around these parts. Want to help? Again, your legacy will be established in that speck of blue or red you so lovingly daub upon the wall or that tiny weird mural you decided to add to our back office.

Off-the-beaten-path events

Try something new, gosh darn-it! The stakes are very low! We are nice :) And so are the weirdos running events in August. Come see works in progress about sentient donuts, fever dreams with colonial lesbians from past lives, let out your inner friki with role play games, create analog music or watch nerds jam and make analog music, observe clowns in their natural habitat and if you behave, then we may let you see some seriously good burlesque.

Build up your language and cultural muscles

Not sure if you noticed, but The BCN Studio strives to be at least trilingual - Catalan, Spanish and English - if not more-lingual and more-cultural. Wherever possible we design events where a person who speaks one of these languages and wants to build up the other ones can feel safe, have conversation flow, know that the other guests and community members have their back, will help them understand and express themselves. We want to help English speakers integrate into Catalonia. We want to help locals feel unthreatened by English. We want both to have language experiences that expand access to culture, thought, feeling and humans.
