The Teachers:

  • Alex is an artist and educator originally from California with ten years of experience teaching theater to children. She has worked with Shakespeare and theater-for-social-change companies and holds a degree in Cinema & Digital Media as well as an early childhood teaching credential. She has led drama programs in public elementary schools, using theater as a tool for literacy, language, and social-emotional development. As an educator, she hopes to create a space where students feel safe to explore, take risks, and express themselves freely. Having recently made Barcelona her home, she is inspired by the city’s energy, its people, and its culture, and is excited to continue her work in a multilingual, international environment where storytelling and performance can connect students across languages and backgrounds.

  • Rebeca is an actress and theatre producer originally from Venezuela. She began her teaching career in a program dedicated to bringing theatre to children from underserved communities in Caracas and the Venezuelan Andes. This experience led her to understand theatre as an educational resource beyond the arts. She lives in Barcelona and is part of The BCN Studio team, and Teatro del Sótano, along helping market other theatre schools and communities.

  • Samuel is a bilingual British actor and English teacher. Coming from a family of teachers, he learned from a young age the joys of working with children, and he particularly loves sharing his passion for the theatre. He has a lot of experience using performance to not only help children grow creatively and develop confidence, but also to become more comfortable speaking English in a more fun and dynamic way. He’s worked for different companies that teach both drama and English to young learners, and is eager to use his skills and years of experience to help ensure the The BCN Studio theatre camp program is both fun and educational.
