Two friends, both in their seventies are sitting in the living room of one of their apartments and talking. Their conversation is not about the dear grandchildren, knitting instructions or the special ingredient that makes the apple pie particularly juicy. Instead, in Dirty Old Women, Jenny Simanowitz and Kathy Tanner discuss large penises, laugh at swallowed hearing aids during passionate love-play or recommend coconut oil as an ideal lubricant. The program is a mixture of sharp-tongued cabaret and sitcom, is autobiographically based and breaks with the socially predominant image of older women, which excludes lust and eroticism.
