About The Event
Play | In English | Doors open 30 minutes before performance
Drawing from real-life interviews, the play weaves together stories of family history, language, and ethnicity. The women's experiences are both personal and universal, reflecting the complexities of being Armenian in a different part of the world and in Armenia.
As the characters navigate their way off the carpet, they learn to appreciate their shared roots and the richness of their cultural heritage. The play is an exploration of their own culture, community, and the enduring spirit of the Armenian people. Armenian folk dances and songs highlight the form of resistance.
The carpet becomes a symbol of their collective identity, and their journey represents the resilience and diversity of the Armenian people.
