An intensive storytelling workshop for performance, professional development and confidence

Monday Jan 27th and Tuesday Jan, 28th 19h - 22h

Showcase: Friday 31st, 20:00

Storytelling is a powerful tool that boosts professional, presentation skills and personal confidence by engaging with and captivating any target audience. Learn the foundations and skills of Storytelling in a hands on, practical workshop and take your comedy, prose or journal to the next level. This is perfect for anyone wanting to better express themselves on stage and in life. A challenging and emboldening experience.

Throughout two intensive sessions (Jan 27th and 28th) Amelia will provide a holistic learning experience: you will explore the art of storytelling by diving into the intricacies of narrative shape and substance, content and delivery, engagement and stage presence. You will learn how to weave these skills together to create captivating and memorable stories.

You will get to put all the knowledge into action!: The Intensive will end with an open showcase on Friday 31st of January.

About Amelia Jane Hunter

Originally from Australia, Amelia now lives and loves between the land of bone structure, broad shoulders and smoldering eye contact; Berlin and the sizzling style and happiness of Barcelona.

Touring the expansive girth of both hemispheres; finding and funding perverted love, true crime and culinary frights, Amelia is an unstoppable adventurer on a quest to reignite the power, purpose and politics of love.

Described by Time Out UK as ‘a brilliant tour de force of laughter filled mischievous com-edy’, Amelia is the carnival ride that should have been closed down the day Michael Jacksons hair caught on fire.

Riveting, ribald and completely uncensored, a trained actress, charismatic comedian and powerful storyteller with solo shows that have earned her comedy awards, bad dates and sold-out crowds worldwide.

Winner of Thessaloniki Fringe Festival 2024, Melbourne International Comedy Festival Awards, Sydney Comedy Festival Directors Prize and Edinburgh Fringe Total Theatre Award, Host of Soho House Comedy Berlin/Barcelona and former bushwalking guide, Amelia Jane Hunter shares her wisdom to rattle sensibilities, power structures and patriarchy; to celebrate and encourage the joy of storytelling with an edge of naughtiness, kink and compassion.

"This is a tour-de-force of defiant attitude, a clarion cry to be proud of who you are and not be confined by convention" — Chortle Comedy

"A rough diamond, joyfully sex positive, a vagabond hedonist" — The Scotsman

"On stage she is a force of nature: aggressive, confident, in your face and opinionated. She prowls the stage like a caged animal as she tells her tales of a world that restricts such a free spirit. It’s wonderful to witness her storytelling in person: describing the scene in deep detail and using poetic language so that all are rapt, only for her to floor us with a hysterical and biting comment as a punchline. It’s akin to snarky foot- notes scrawled in the margins of a classy novella." — Squirrel Comedy Australia
"She’s empowered in every aspect of her untamed life, lived to its fullest." — Chortle Com-edy
"What, after all, can a highly intelligent woman who hasn't got herself married off with chil-dren by her forties, say for herself? Well, a life of adventure in the dungeons of Berlin seems a very fine alternative for me." — NZ Theatre Review

"Deliciously cynical, lyrically explicit and very, very funny. She’s Samantha from Sex and the City with the vocabulary of Stephen Fry." — Chortle
"A stunning performer with presence and panache, a vulnerable, revelatory performance at its centre." — Time Out UK
"Raw, outrageous, completely unapologetic and enthralling to watch." — UK Comedy Guide
