A theatre company is preparing a production of ‘A Doll's House' by Henrik Ibsen. While rehearsing the last scene, the director notices a detail: the play does not end with Nora's legendary slamming of the door; but with the image of her husband, Torvald Helmer, who after a moment of defeat, looks up with a glimmer of hope, and repeats the phrase spoken earlier by his wife, 'the greatest of miracles’. Can an abyss be a bridge? What is the greatest of miracles?
This is a staged reading performed by members of our resident theatre company Teatro del Sótano: Lisa Coleman, Annie O'Callaghan, Dermot Arrigan, Ana Isabella Byrne, Thèrése Hoben and Rebeca Hernández.
