'Irse' is a performance piece of visual poetry, movement and sound that explores the different dynamics that arise when the human body is separated (or not) from a situation, a place, objects and memories.
This is a familiar story –the story of a traveler, Luisa.
Luisa encounters fragments and versions of herself while going through boxes in a basement. Memories, friendships, treasures and windows to other places in the world merge in a space that becomes all spaces.
How do we face the sweet sorrow of farewell?
Is it possible to untangle the memories of lost objects, people?
What does it take to leave and enjoy the flight?
Irse was born as a collective creation and has evolved into documentary theatre, featuring real stories from migrants around the world and the objects they’ve traveled with. What do you take with you when you have to leave your home?
A play by Teatro del Sótano
Directed by Annie O’Callaghan
Assistant director Nastascha Contreras
With Thais Guerrero & Rebeca Hernández
