In ‘An Evening with Lucas Abram: Your Own Personal Stranger,’ Lucas spends some time blending storytelling, comedy, a dash of empirical idiocies and live song to explore the performances, contradictions and overt fraudulence of masculinity today. Drawing from lived anecdotes as an educator, broadcaster and fellow traveller, the show exposes how ‘the male identity’ is often borrowed, performed, and repackaged across straight, gay and queer worlds… but darling, darling, we’re doing it with lovely shoes, with wit, self-awareness and musical surprises rarely seen on the comedy stage.
